04 Jan The Bra Lady
2016 has been a fantastic year, not only socially but also from a business point of view.
I enjoyed three marvellous holidays; the first in April when my man took me to Lodz in Poland to meet his friends whom he has known for over 25 years. Using his car we went through the Channel Tunnel and stopped overnight in Arnhem before going on to Potsdam in Germany. There we visited the beautiful Parc Sanssouci, which is modelled on Versailles, and also had a day touring Berlin. Then on into Poland for a week, spending a day in Warsaw. On the return journey we had two days in Dresden, two in Cologne, where I was able to catch-up with a long standing girlfriend whom I met on the Mercy Ship in Sierra Leone several years ago. Our final stopover was in Ghent; a total journey of over 2,000 miles in two weeks.
In June myself and my daughter went on a very special holiday to Russia, where we spent three days going around all the iconic sights of Moscow, as well as going to a typical Russian Folk Show. We then travelled by train to St Petersburg where again we visited some fascinating museums in that lovely city. The Faberge collection was really outstanding.
Our third holiday was an eight day river cruise on the Danube. We boarded the ship in Budapest, then onto Bratislava, and up to Passau in Germany where we then headed back downstream to Vienna, stopping at many interesting places on the way. What a lovely relaxing time we had watching the scenery unfold as we went by; and of course sampling the local wines and food.
But the highlight of the year has to be my birthday treat in August. My man took me to Oxford, a place I have always wanted to visit. We stayed out of town at The Marlborough Arms, a 15th Century Coaching Inn in Woodstock. My birthday started with a surprised high tea with champagne in The Orangery at Blenheim Palace, followed by evening dinner in an exclusive restaurant. The next day was shopping at the renowned Bicester Village (has to been done). The following day was around the Oxford colleges, with the afternoon on the River Cherwell in a punt being propelled by my man, whilst I reclined like ‘Lady Muck’ with a bottle of chilled rose’ (yet another surprise).
Thanks to all my loyal clients it has been a very successful year, with Orchid Lingerie ranked in the top five of all retailers in the south west region with the company that supplies me with ‘Fantasie’, ‘Freya’ and ‘Elomie’. Furthermore I have recently expanded my range to include ‘Wacoal’ and ‘Be Tempted’, but am still stocking ‘Triumph’.
I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas break, we certainly did, having many nice presents; with Teddy not forgotten. As you can see he is now looking extremely smart in his new collar. My New Year resolution is to exercise more to overcome the excesses of Christmas, but making sure I am wearing my new ‘Freya Sports Bra’. Something we ladies should never forget when exercising.
